Dictionary of technical terms
It can happen that you could meet for you unknown technical terms in our presentation. To understand them in the right way, we are offering you the list of the most frequently used terms with their explanation.
ABS edge
The furniture edge made of ABS plastic (akrylonitril - butadien - styren) in the range of thicknesses 0,5 -2mm. It is especially suitable for bathroom furniture (substitution of common paper edges) thanks to its excellent physical and mechanical characteristics.
PUR adhesive
The hotmelt adhesive system based on polyurethane; an excellent water resistance and a high heat resistance. It is especially suitable for bathroom furniture because of no edge-unsticking by increased moisture.
PUR colours
Colours based on polyurethane; a high resistance against moisture, abrasion and a mechanical damage. They can be high-gloss polished in all colour shades. They are especially suitable for bathroom furniture.
High-gloss
The finish on front surfaces. The high gloss of front surface is achieved thanks to coating with PUR colours and an interoperation of grinding. The last coat is polished with special polishing pastes.
IP Code
Means a degree of protection against entry of solid objects (dust) and water. An installation must be done by a competent person and according to IP degree and national directives.
Corpus-presser
The pneumatic pressing device guarantees rectangularity and rigidity of corpuses thanks to defined degreses of side- and upper thrusts and pressing time. INTEDOOR bathroom furniture is delivered assembled, a customer does not need to complete it by himself and has the assurance of a perfect assembling – a service life of furniture is longer.
Artificial marble
A mixture of ground calcite in various sizes, glass sand – if needed and binding material. The upper sheet is resinous gelcoat. Artificial marble washbasins are fully comparable with ceramic ones as for their utility values - service life, fast colours, non-absorbency and cleaning. The usage of artificial marble washbasins is in a lot of countries more widespread compared with ceramic ones.
Attention: Do not confuse an artificial marble and light acrylate (shower trayes, washbasins etc.)
MDF
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) of various thicknesses. Wood fibres are combined with wax and resin and formed as boards by applying high temperature and pressure. Smooth surface, compact edges, homogeneity and an excellent machinability are characteristics of this material and make MDF very suitable for the furniture industry. Material is appropriate to be varnished, pickled, coated with a foil, veneered etc. As for bathroom furniture MDF is especially used for front surfaces.
Laminated boards
Chipboards of various thicknesses coated wth a decorative laminate sheet. Because of its low density, the material is not suitable to be surface worked. As for bathroom furniture, laminated boards are especially used for cabinet corpuses.
